NMC is currently seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Endoscopy Technician in Specialty Hospital, Near Ayla Hotel, Opposite Baladiya Park, Shakhboot Bin Sultan St, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This job’s main responsibility is to collaborate with the OPD Supervisor and anaesthesia department to schedule endoscopic examinations requiring anaesthetist intervention. RESPONSIBILITIES OF ENDOSCOPY TECHNICIAN AT NMC SPECIALTY HOSPITAL

  • Ensure consent is taken by a doctor.
  • Explain endoscopy procedures to the patient with the support of his/her language with pro department staff. To check about any contraindications to endoscopy or sedation and inform the Doctor.
  • Gives instructions and prepares needed laboratory investigations for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures and Histopathological Biopsy.
  • Collaborates with the OPD Supervisor and anaesthesia department in scheduling endoscopic examination that requires anaesthetist intervention.
  • Responsible for handling the specimen safely.
  • Clean and disinfect scopes and all open accessories according to the manufacturer’s requirements.
  • Adheres to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining the inventory stock as delegated by HOD.
  • Performs safety checks to verify the functions of the equipment.
  • Preparing endoscopy room according to endoscopy procedure requirements.
  • Participate in any educational activities and attend continuing nursing education activities relevant to the area of mandatory requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/ Bachelor in Endoscopy.
  • Two  (2) years experience as an endoscopy technician.
  • License to practice by DOH.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not mandatory
