Responsibilities of Radiography Technologist at American Hospital
- Performs various radiographic tasks, including general and specialized ones.
- Contain various exams such as mammography, interventional/fluoroscopy, portable radiography, C-arm, O-armed, and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA)
- Follows the guidelines of American Hospital Dubai and the Department of Medical Imaging.
- Teaches and positions patients during procedures.
- Select appropriate techniques and adjust equipment to ensure clear and accurate images.
- Read the application and studies before taking the test.
- Clean, maintain and inspect equipment and supplies to ensure safety in their assigned areas daily.
- At the end of each shift, ensure cleanliness and order of the place.
- Collaborate with radiologists to meet procedural needs and requirements.
- Coordinate patient imaging schedule as needed.
- Will evaluate critical and emergency procedures to prioritize patient care as directed by radiologists.
- Always follow radiation safety guidelines, including screening women of childbearing age with low malignant potential (LMP) and shielding the gonadal areas when necessary.
- Follow safety procedures in specific areas such as completing MRI safety study forms and contrast assessment for interventional procedures.
- Perform any additional duties as required, including administrative duties such as filing, clerical and programmatic assistance.
Qualification
- A Bachelor’s degree in Radiography/Radiology Technology
- 2 years of experience as a Radiography Technologist
- Knowledge of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of radiation, magnetic protection, and safety.
- Knowledge of Middle East Culture and Customs.
