NMC presently has a job opening for the role of Histopathology Technologist with a B.Sc. in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science and 3 years of experience at Royal Hospital,16th St,  Khalifa City, SE 4, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The selected candidate is responsible for preparing tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis. Gross descriptions of small, uncomplicated specimens are recorded where appropriate, using specific terminology according to the procedure. RESPONSIBILITIES OF HISTOPATHOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST AT NMC ROYAL HOSPITAL

  •  Tissue samples are prepared using the correct procedures for preservation including, processing, freezing and embedding as appropriate per procedure.
  • Stains tissue for Routine, Special Stains, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Enzyme
    Histochemistry as requested.
  • Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.
  • Instrumentation is necessary for Histology functions is operate within the manufacturers’ guidelines and according to procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.Sc. in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification requiring not less than 3 years training course.
  • 3 years of experience as a Histopathology Technologist
  • Currently licensed in country of origin and with HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi UAE.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, Arabic is desirable, but not essential.
  •  The ability to learn and handle automation and IT programs is desirable but not essential
