RESPONSIBILITIES OF TECHNICAL DIRECTOR AT AMERICAN HOSPITAL

  • Assists the Chief Radiologist/Oncologist in the daily running of the Department by setting up staff work schedules
  • Handling the technical aspect of the department ensuring that all equipment function properly.
  • Oversees and assists section supervisors in setting up, administrative departmental processes, technical protocols and workflows as created by Chief Radiologist/Oncologist.
  • Ability to apply advanced clinical skills in different modalities with difficult and complex cases.
  • Ability to apply quality principles to assure quality results in the Department.
  • Ability to develop, implement and adapt different procedures in different modalities.
  • Ability to manage the Department’s inventory (equipment, supplies)
  • Demonstrates the ability to be culturally sensitive.
  • Participates in customer service training and continuing education.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with patient complaints
  • Responds to patients positively and politely.
  • Performs and/or oversees the performance of department procedures, including instructing and manipulating patients, selecting techniques and calibrating equipment, and obtaining and developing high quality images.
  • Helps to facilitate Technologists/Radiotherapist by the established procedures and protocols.
  • Supervises, trains, and monitors technologists in the day-to-day execution of Imaging and associated procedures and techniques, and in the effective and safe operation of facilities, and equipment.
  • Schedules patients for Imaging examinations if required.
  • Evaluate the nature of critical and emergency procedures and arranges patient priorities to accommodate them in conjunction with
  • Radiologist/Oncologist instructions.
  • Maintain the Quality Assurance program.
  • Oversees the departmental inventories and supplies.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
  • Review the request and previous studies before performing the examination.
  • Maintain section service and equipment as deployed by the Chief Radiologist/Oncologist

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School, University, or Institution from where the qualification permits registration with the ARRT or its equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience as a Technical Director
  • Current Registered Licensure in the country of citizenship or professional practice.
  • Knowledge of JCIA or accreditation standards.
  • Knowledge of QI/CQI/PI philosophy
