RESPONSIBILITIES OF SPECIALIST ENDOCRINOLOGIST AT NMC ROYAL KARAMA
ENDOCRINOLOGY SPECIALISTS KEY ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Identify and obtain the necessary clinical, medical and/or surgical history to make the appropriate diabetic assessment.
- Specializes in the treatment of hormone and endocrine gland disorders.
- Examine the patients, make the diagnosis and prescribe medication or recommend surgery, depending on the disorder.
- Perform necessary diagnostic procedures and clinical tests.
- Prescribe the appropriate treatment and conduct follow-ups.
- Refer patients to other specialists if necessary.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Give the best possible care to patients in the Medical Centre and ensure that a high professional standard of care consistent with the resources available is provided to all patients.
- Abide by the rules of the Department and Section.
- Observe ethical standards compatible with contemporary medical practice.
- Provide and maintain medical and health professional education and continuing interdisciplinary health professional education.
- Promote evidence-based decision-making.
- Maintain involvement, as a recipient, in continuing medical and interdisciplinary professional education to meet minimum DOH requirements.
- Recognize the authority of the Head of Department, the Medical Director, the Medical Executive
- Committee and the Medical Centre Director.
- Notify the Head of Department, Medical Director or Medical Centre Director of any actions or claims that may arise that may affect the licensure of the employee to practice medicine.
- Attend all meetings of the Departments to which the Medical Staff member is appointed (unless excused).
- Serve on sub-committees of the Medical Executive Committee, as required.
- Provide consultations on patients, as required.
- Contribute to the production of Clinical Guidelines, Critical Care Pathways and Managed care
- Processes as needed for the care of their patients or upon the request from their Head of Section or Department.
- Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports
- Actively participate in the Medical Centre’s ongoing Patient Safety and Quality Improvement
- Programs and other In-Service Training Programs.
- Act as a translator if needed
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Head of Department
- Has the sole responsibility for issuing DOH Sick Leave from the DOH website.
- They will take Most Responsible Physician (MRP) responsibilities for patients under their direct care.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MBBCH + master’s degree in Endocrinology
- Minimum 5-10 Years experience as a Specialist Endocrinologist
- Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
- Candidate with local UAE (Abu Dhabi region) market experience and DOH License/DOH Pass shall be an added advantage.
