Radiographer in American Hospital Dubai is responsible to perform Radiographic examinations within the units/clinics and the Medical Imaging Department. This job ID number is 2100.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF RADIOGRAPHER IN AMERICAN HOSPITAL
- Performs procedures, which include instructing and manipulating patients, selecting techniques, and calibrating equipment to obtain high-quality images.
- Reviews the request and previous studies before performing the examination.
- Cleans, stocks, and checks the operation of equipment and accessory devices for safety daily in rostered areas. Clean and tidy rooms at the end of all shifts.
- Works closely with the radiologists to cater for all procedural needs and requirements.
- Schedules patients for Imaging examinations if required.
- Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures and arranges patient priorities to accommodate them in conjunction with Radiologist instructions.
- Observes radiation safety measures/protocols at all times (e.g. Checking the Low Malignant Potential (LMP) in all females of childbearing age, and protecting gonadal areas when applicable).
- Observes all safety measures in the specialized areas (e.g. MRI safety screening form, contrast assessment, checking PTT/INR times available for interventional procedures).
- Performs additional duties as specified by immediate Team Leader.
- Performs and monitors safety checks on patients, employees, and visitors to comply with the safety regulations in the x-ray suite.
- Assists with follow-up of Incidents/Accidents and Patient Complaints as directed by Chief Of Medical Imaging or Technical Director.
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and hygienic by disinfecting machines and accessories regularly and keeping food and drinks away from work areas – personal items out of sight.
- Performs data analysis and audit in the Medical Imaging Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiography/Radiology Technology or Medical Imaging
- Active home country registration
- Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Radiographer
- Knowledge of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
- Knowledge of radiation, magnetic protection, and safety
- Knowledge of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) or accreditation standards
- Knowledge of Middle East Culture and Customs
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and x-ray techniques
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently
