KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS OF RADIOGRAPHER IN MEDICLINIC AL JOWHARA HOSPITAL

• Perform routine radiographic procedures within set guidelines and in accordance with regulatory requirements
• To make sure that the consent form is duly filled up
• Elaborate to the patient before starting the procedure.
• The radiologist instructs us to carry out the contrast procedure.
• Explain to the patient about contraindications.
• An experience nurse assists in ensuring that all emergency drugs and accessories are properly working.
• Communicating with patients and others in a clear, respectful and appropriate way.
• Arrange anesthesia back up in case of emergencies, non-cooperative patients.
• To ensure that the radiologist sees and verifies the obtained images.
• Provide professional guidance, care and support to patients.
• Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.
• Assessing patients and interpreting clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
• Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high- quality images.
• Maintain patient records according to policy and statutory requirements.
• Follow patient safety principles and practices in accordance with care standards.
• Perform equipment calibration and maintenance functions.

EDUCATION

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging or a Higher Diploma in Radiology (minimum 3 year duration) from an accredited institution

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years’ relevant experience as a Radiographer.
