Pharmacist in Al Zahra Hospital Dubai

Pharmacist in Al Zahra Hospital Dubai is responsible for providing pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners. Fills prescriptions, dispenses medicines, counsels patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains and supervises assistant pharmacists. Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges, and inventory.

Responsibilities of Pharmacist in Al Zahra Hospital

  • Makes decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide information about over-the-counter drugs and make recommendations after talking with the patient.
  • Counsel patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects
  • Provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
  • Provides guidance and training to the assistant pharmacist during work and monitors performance.
  • Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and recordkeeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
  • Take patient histories as required; make initial clinical assessments and refer patients to appropriate clinicians.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • In addition is also responsible for the completion of third-party insurance forms and other paperwork.
    Responsible for keeping confidential computerized records of patients’ drug therapies to prevent harmful drug interactions.
  • Follows insurance companies’ policies and procedures.
  • Follows DHA regulations
  • Monitor the nearing expiry/expired items to dispose of them according to policy.
  • Assure the accuracy of every prescription processed.
  • Report any violation of departments’ policies and procedures to the chief Pharmacist.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives continuous quality improvement objectives and ensure pharmacy staff compliance
  • Perform any job-related duties as assigned by a chief pharmacist.
  • Stays current on developments within your field of specialization by reading industry publications and seeking information on industry best practices
  • Helps supervisor to identify sources of waste and inefficiency to help contain the costs of healthcare delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • 3 years of experience as a Pharmacist
