Accountabilities of Nurse Internal Medicine at American Hospital Dubai

• Provide care age-specific and relate to the patient’s needs as part of the treatment process.
• Assesses patients using age-appropriate techniques and focuses on identified problems.
• Constantly monitors the patient’s and his family’s physical and mental needs.
• If possible, the nurse involves the patient, his relatives and other health professionals in preparing the treatment plan.
• Collaborates with experts in various fields to provide the best care.
• Prepares and administers intensive care plans or clinical treatments, prioritizing treatment based on the special needs of each patient. They will also update the treatment plan if necessary.
• Nasal swab testing for influenza A and B and a respiratory virus panel.
• Perform rapid testing in Point-of-Care (POC).
• Conduct Pap tests with their hands-on training.
• Provide earwax removal support.
• Perform tests to check both colour vision and visual acuity.
• Contributes to unit-level continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, such as data collection and CQ1 teams.)

Qualification

• a Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• 2 years of experience as a Nurse in Internal Medicine
• Skills in the assessment of patient and family’s physical and psychological needs
• Skills in coordination and planning of care and prioritising care based on individual needs
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is essential
