• Demonstrates problem-solving skills and critical thinking to ensure unit routines operate effectively.
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams continues when organizing patient care.
• Organizational skills are demonstrated as a team leader/charge nurse as needed.
• Active participation in staff meetings and unit committees/projects.
• Demonstrates skills for ongoing intensive care of the physical and psychological need of the patient and family.
• Demonstrates skill in coordinating and planning a critical care/clinical pathway and prioritizing treatment based on individual needs. If necessary, change the treatment plan.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to provide care and services based on patient needs, age appropriateness and developmental level.
• Performs maintenance procedures by established maintenance standards and policies and procedures.
• Assists medical colleagues with diagnostic treatment procedures.
• Actively participates in unit-based CQI activities (data collection, CQI teams, etc.).
• Serves if required on hospital-wide CQI teams/committees/task forces.

Qualification

• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• 3 years of experience as a Nurse ICU
• Current license to practice nursing
• BCLS certification
