Medical Transcriptionist in American Hospital Dubai

Medical Transcriptionist Cardiology in American Hospital Dubai is responsible to assists with the responsibility for ensuring the effective, efficient and smooth running of the Cardiac Cath Lab providing unit clerical and interpreter support. Provides secretarial support to the Cardiac Centre physicians within the time constraints of the primary function. This job ID number is 2082.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST IN AMERICAN HOSPITAL

• Transcribe discharge summaries and medical reports of all the departments of the hospital.
• Types Fitness certificates issued by the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics required for pregnant women to travel by air.
• Ensuring that transcriptions are formatted according to company standards.
• Researching and verifying names, terms, and other information as needed.
• Transcribes Angiogram, angioplasty, echocardiogram, reports of Cardiology department.
• Other than the above said reports medical transcriptionist deal with the vaccination certificates, health check up reports etc. and Dexa scan reports.
• All the reports of radiology department are transcribed by the medical transcriptionist in the HMS.
• Other duty assigned by the head of the department as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Medical Transcriptionist Diploma / Certificate Course or its equivalent
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values
• Graduate of Business Secretarial College or equivalent experience
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Minimum of 50 wpm typing speed.
• Shorthand an advantage.
• Computer literate/familiar with word processing packages, e.g. Word, Excel and Power Point, Internet and e-mail systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology an advantage.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Three years’ experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.
• Exposure to Customer Service Training.
