KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS OF CONSULTANT MEDICINE IN MEDICLINIC JOWHARA HOSPITAL

  • Provide a comprehensive professional and ethical quality clinical services to patients in an effective and efficient manner
  • Monitor and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance and quality management standards
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Consulting with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.
  • Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, such as bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic diseases and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes.
  • Prescribing or administering medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  • Explaining procedures and discussing test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Monitoring patients’ conditions and progress, and re-evaluating treatments, as necessary. Providing health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Immunizing patients against preventable diseases.
  • Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
  • Referring patients to other medical specialists, when necessary.
  • Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
  • Ensure excellence in medical practice is maintained by focusing on continuous professional development of self and others
  • Maintain integrity in professional services by executing clinical services in an ethical and responsible manner

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Essential: Basic medical degree and completion of a specialty qualification/education programme (fellowship/diploma) recognised by the relevant UAE healthcare authority
  • Certification and registration in a speciality recognised by relevant UAE healthcare authority
  • Active and valid life support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP)
  • Desired: Speciality specific

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 – 5 years’ post qualification experience at Specialist level (independent of country) in Internal Medicine
  • Desired: At least 1 year Specialist level experience from a Tier 1 country as specified by the UAE healthcare regulator
