Sleep Technologist in Mubadala Danat Emarat Abu Dhabi

Mubadala is currently seeking suitable candidate for position of Sleep Technologist in Danat Al Emarat Abu Dhabi. This role is responsible to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. Responsibilities of Sleep Technologist in Mubadala Danat Al Emarat

  • Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs.
  • Reviews the patient’s history and verify the medical order and follows sleep center protocols related to the sleep study.
  • Selects appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary, and apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards. (AASM).
  • Performs polysomnography (PSG) sleep study and positive airway pressure (PAP), Schedules and organizes special procedure tests and follow the procedural protocols [such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen titration etc.] to ensure collection of appropriate
    data.
  • Performs patients testing including but not limited to ABG’s, Non-invasive PAP devices and checking Co2 level by using end-tidal CO2level (EtCO2) or transcutaneous carbon dioxide monitor (TcCO2).
  • Educates patients as well as their family members about their medical conditions and teaches them appropriate disease management techniques including but not limited to devices and machines.
  • Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined positions on the patient’s head according to the 10 -20 system of electrode placement, and checks their impedance and performance according to AASM.
  • Describes and documents all abnormal clinical manifestations observed during the EEG test.
  • Performs appropriate physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals and make required adjustments.
  • Performs data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identifies, corrects and documents artifact.
  • Follows “lights out” procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates, etc.).
  •  Demonstrates adherence to cleaning and disinfection procedures for sensors and sleep devices.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to perform portable monitoring equipment preparation and data download.
  • Abstracts relevant information from the patient’s clinical record.
  • Maintains equipment in clean operating condition and performs proper maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots the equipment and performs minor repairs.
  • Reports to line manager when equipment needs servicing or replacement.
  • Complies and forwards charge slips for billing purposes as required.
  • Contributes to research and development programs within the asset.

Qualifications

  • Sleep Technology certificate
  • Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT)
  • American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)
  • Sleep Disorders Specialty Examination by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
