Psychologist in SKMC Ajman is accountable to provide clinical psychology services in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities of Psychologist in SKMC
- Conduct psychiatric interviews and collects data for diagnostic purposes
- Develop relevant treatment programmes, including therapy, counselling or professional advise in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Provide career counselling services
- Participates in the weekly Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Team meeting to discuss challenging patients, office dynamics, and/or seek supervision on cases.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans for care for the patient and their family, including but not limited to, smoking cessation, addiction treatment, eating disorder monitoring, etc.
- Participates in treatment, including post-surgical follow up on a weekly basis, utilizing here and now methods to create/utilize action based/problem solving techniques around anticipated issues that may arise after leaving the clinic and/or hospital treatment.
- Provide therapy and treatments for mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, addiction, social and behaviour related challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in the field of psychology And Postgraduate Doctoral degree (example: Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D., D.Clin.Psy) from an approved psychology faculty or an educational faculty with focusĀ on psychology
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital or clinic as a Psychologist
- Complete supervised clinical internships as part of doctoral program.
- Should have DHA License.
- Maintain licensure through continuing education; pursue specialized certifications if desired
