Responsibilities

  • Maintain Tree Health: Perform essential tree care activities, including pruning, planting, mowing, and weed trimming, to ensure orchard vitality.
  • Support Controlled Pollination: Assist in the breeding program by conducting controlled mass pollination to enhance tree genetics.
  • Cone Collection: Gather cones from selected trees to ensure high-quality seed production for future forestry projects.
  • Work at Heights: Climb and work in elevated positions (up to 80 ft) while following all safety protocols (onsite training provided)
  • General Orchard Operations: Assist with various outdoor tasks that keep the orchard running smoothly and efficiently.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma; enrollment in or completion of a forestry program is a plus.
  • Experience: No prior experience required, but experience in outdoor labor, tree care, or forestry is preferred.
  • Skills & Traits: Strong work ethic, reliability, ability to work outdoors in various conditions, and comfort working at heights. Possible lifting of up to 50lbs.
  • Certifications: No certifications required, but a Class 5 driver’s license is preferred.
