RESPONSIBILITIES OF NURSE MATERNITY IN NMC ROYAL HOSPITAL

• Provide culturally appropriate patient-focused nursing care.
  Applies the international patient safety goals throughout the patient journey and care process.
• Educates and informs the patient on the care process and other relevant information within her scope of practice.
• Assessment, implementation and coordination of complex care and interventions.
• Supporting a compassionate and therapeutic environment for critically ill patients
• Providing comfort and preventing suffering.
• Collaborating with patients, their families, their healthcare providers, and healthcare professionals.
• Arranging and overseeing continuous monitoring and nursing vigilance.
• Demonstrates skills to triage the patients as per their condition and provides timely care in response to the needs of the patients.
• Carry out nursing assessments, state nursing diagnoses, and provide critical nursing care.
• Demonstrate competency in providing emergency nursing care and procedures for patients of all ages in clinical emergency situations.
• Sets up equipment for assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Monitors continuously vital signs and other parameters of the patient who is under observation.
• Performs a wide range of nursing procedures with keen attention on patient safety and comfort, including those requiring strict aseptic technique.
• Administers intravenous fluids and, medications including high-alert medications and narcotic drugs accurately and safely as prescribed.
• Ensure correct and precise nursing documentation about patient care.
• Demonstrate efficiency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and participate as a member of the Code Blue team in the hospital.
