Key Responsibilities of Laboratory Assistant at Reem Hospital

• Import all clinicians’ laboratory requests from the HMS to the laboratory information system and prepare the laboratory requisition form.
• Ensures that all patient identification is accurate and valid.
• Answers queries from clinics regarding patient test results and test status.
• Prepares bills for the patients
• Ensure that patient insurance cards are valid and not expired. Coordinates with the insurance
• Department regarding test coverage.
• Receipt and identify all patients with request forms entering the department.
• Greet all visitors to the laboratory and notify the relevant laboratory personnel.
• To handle queries relating to samples and requests in a timely and professional manner
• Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean
• Maintains regulatory requirements, including all ISO, CAP and HAAD regulations and requirements
• Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times
• Reports to work on time and as scheduled
• Wears identification while on duty
• Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
• Resolves personnel concerns at the departmental level.
• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety and infection control
• Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
• Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department
