KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS OF HEAD NURSE AT MEDICLINIC BOURN HALL

• To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
• To ensure evidence-based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards
• To ensure a positive patient care experience by developing employees and creating an environment for team engagement
• To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources cost-effectively and efficiently to enhance safe patient care
• To ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continued quality improvement

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised/accredited Nursing Institute
• At least 5 years as a Nurse, preferably in a private hospital/clinic

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation)
• Application of the nursing scope of practices as stipulated in the regulatory framework
• Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications
• Demonstrate competence in the assessment of all nursing procedures
• Demonstrate competence in the application of key clinical equipment used in the clinic
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of patient care and nursing management
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of relevant Acts, statutory regulations and directives, and the application thereof to the management of the nursing team/unit
• Demonstrate the ability to control expenses cost-effectively
• Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of all relevant external standards and manages compliance with these standards
• Risk management principles, systems and best practice
• Stock control principles and management
• Verbal and written communication skills in English
