KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS OF DENTAL ASSISTANT IN MEDICLINIC AL MUSSAFAH
- Assist the Dentist in the delivery of quality dental services according to set clinical standards and relevant legislation.
- Forming preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
- Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory.
- Ensure patient safety by identifying, preventing and managing risks in accordance with policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
- Assisting dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
- Providing great patient care.
- Recording treatment information in patient records.
- Exposing dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.
- Giving patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
- Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
- Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Facilitate positive patient experiences by creating a conducive environment as guided by Hospital leadership.
- Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all dental interventions according to company standard and legal requirements.
- Utilize all required stock and equipment efficiently, according to Mediclinic guidelines.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or related.
- Valid BLS certificate.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Essential: At least 2-3 years’ experience as a qualified Dental Assistant.
- Desired: Experience as a Dental Assistant in the UAE.
JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Basic Arabic language skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety standards.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
